Use a custom symbol when FundStat cannot find the asset you want to book, but you still want to keep transactions for it inside the portfolio.
A custom symbol is your own private symbol definition. It can be used for private assets, broker-specific instruments, or regular exchange-traded assets that are simply missing from FundStat search.
A custom symbol can stay fully manual or use a Yahoo Finance quote only as a reference point for a regular listed stock.
A Yahoo Finance quote URL is optional. FundStat uses it as a reference point to identify the stock symbol and its available end-of-day close.
After creating the symbol on the Custom Symbols page, you do not pick it from the normal symbol search list.
