Benchmarking

Portfolio benchmark – see whether you’re beating the market

Put your portfolio’s return next to the S&P 500, WIG20TR, Polish inflation or another investor’s portfolio. FundStat uses the time-weighted return (TWR), so deposits and withdrawals don’t distort the comparison.

Portfolio benchmark in FundStat – what you can check

One chart answers whether your strategy earns more than an index, inflation or another investor over the same period.

Your portfolio against 11 benchmarks

Add the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, WIG20TR, mWIG40TR, emerging markets, US bonds, gold, bitcoin or Polish inflation to the chart. The comparison shows right away how many percentage points you’re ahead of each one – or how far behind you are.

Deposits don’t inflate your return

The time-weighted return (TWR) measures the investments alone. A 10,000 PLN top-up raises the portfolio value but not its return, so you compare your portfolio and the index fairly – the same way investment funds do.

Indices in your portfolio currency

Foreign benchmarks are converted at each day’s exchange rate. In December 2025 the SPY ETF gained 1.48% in dollars but returned −0.57% in zloty, because the dollar weakened against the zloty. The comparison includes the same currency effect that acts on your portfolio.

Public portfolios and your own assets

Compare yourself with any asset or with another investor’s public portfolio. Model portfolios such as 80/20 and 13F filing portfolios are coming soon. You’ll see whether your own decisions earn more than a simpler strategy.

From one week to 10 years

Pick a preset period – from one week, through year to date, up to 10 years – or set your own date range. A short period shows how you reacted to recent market moves, a long one whether the strategy works over a full cycle.

Indices to compare your portfolio with – full list

FundStat tracks indices through the ETFs that replicate them, and inflation through the consumer price index (CPI) for Poland. WIG20TR and mWIG40TR are total return versions of the indices, so they include paid dividends.

How to compare your portfolio with an index – 3 steps

  1. 1

    Import your transaction history

Upload a file from your broker, such as XTB, mBank, Interactive Brokers or Degiro. Transaction import rebuilds your portfolio day by day, including deposits, dividends and fees.

  2. 2

    Pick benchmarks and a period

Select one or more indices, a public portfolio or a custom asset and set the date range. The comparison works for all accounts together or for a selected account or portfolio.

  3. 3

Read the gap in percentage points

If your TWR is +15% and the S&P 500 in zloty gained +10% over the same period, you’re 5 percentage points ahead of the index. Risk matters too, so read the result together with your portfolio alpha and beta.
