Dividend investor – the problems you run into most

Dividends arrive in different currencies, on different accounts and with different taxes. Most people building passive income from dividends know these situations.

  • Dividends land on three accounts and I don’t know how much came in this year in total.

Transaction import brings in payouts from every broker, and the Dividends section shows them together, month by month and in PLN.

  • I don’t know when the next dividend arrives or whether I still qualify for it.

The dividend tracker shows confirmed payouts for the next 90 days with the ex-dividend date and the number of eligible shares.

  • I know the dividend yield of single stocks, but not of my whole portfolio.

FundStat calculates the portfolio’s dividend yield as the last 12 months of payouts divided by its current value, together with the average dividend growth.

  • With US dividends, I don’t know how much tax I still owe in PIT-38.

The annual summary takes 19% of the gross amount and subtracts the tax withheld at source, up to the treaty rate on avoiding double taxation.

Dividend investor – frequently asked questions

Dividend yield is the annual dividend per share divided by the share price, shown as a percentage. For the whole portfolio, FundStat divides the last 12 months of payouts by the portfolio’s current value, so you see the income your entire wealth produces, not a single company’s.
