Retirement saver – the problems you run into most
Saving for retirement takes decades and usually spans several accounts with different tax rules. Most people using IKE and IKZE know these situations.
My IKE is at one broker, my IKZE at another and my regular account at a third.
You add each of them as a separate account marked as IKE or IKZE, and the portfolio shows the combined result of all your savings.
I don’t want gains from IKE and IKZE mixed into my PIT-38.
The annual summary leaves IKE and IKZE out, because their income is exempt from capital gains tax, and calculates PIT-38 only from regular accounts.
I’ve been contributing for years and don’t know what that gives me per year.
FundStat measures returns with TWR, which removes the effect of regular contributions, so you see the real result of your saving, not just a growing balance. CAGR expresses the result per year.
I don’t know whether my retirement savings grow faster than inflation.
Benchmark comparison puts your portfolio’s result next to Polish CPI inflation and indices over the same period.
A retirement saver’s year in FundStat
Saving for retirement comes down to a few repeated tasks a year. Each of them has its place in the app.
- Every month
Contribute and buy
After contributing to your IKE or IKZE and buying units, upload your broker’s file. The portfolio shows each account’s new state right away.
Transaction import - Every quarter
Check your result against inflation
Compare the portfolio’s return with CPI inflation and an index to see whether your savings grow in real terms.
Benchmark comparison - By 31 December
Use your contribution limits
IKE and IKZE contributions count toward the limit of the year they reach the account, and any unused limit is lost.

Deduct IKZE and file PIT-38
You deduct IKZE contributions from income in your PIT return, and file PIT-38 only for your regular account.

Saving for retirement – frequently asked questions
IKZE contributions are deducted from income in your PIT return, and a withdrawal after age 65 is taxed at a flat 10%. An IKE gives no deduction when you pay in, but a withdrawal after age 60, or 55 with acquired pension rights, is exempt from the 19% capital gains tax. Both require meeting statutory conditions, including the years of contributions.
